Water contaminated fuel

Fuel contaminated with water, whether it is petrol or diesel, is undoubtedly a significant situation to handle in a motor vehicle - particularly in current day common-rail engines. Putting water in fuel tank will likely bring about idling difficulties, uneven running, excessive smoke and, if it is not sorted out properly, possibly broken injectors. Now I am not necessarily too enthusiastic about carrying out work Sundays, and a while back was no different. I'd just departed the family following a wonderful Sunday roast made for us by the missus, and I was en route to assist a guy who put the wrong petrol in his Mitsubishi.
